Why and how should I create a backup of my account?

We strongly recommend you back up your account, even though you don’t have to. If you log out of your account and lose your login data, the money in your account will be lost. Neither MedioPay nor anyone else has access to your funds, only you yourself.  You are your own bank and we cannot retrieve your password if you forget it. Read more about this here.

This makes your account safe on the one hand, though it requires responsibility on the other hand.

 

Here is how you can back up your account:

If you did not already back up your account while registering, please go to https://www.moneybutton.com/settings

Scrolling all the way down, you will see the button Back Up Your Money shown above. Click on it and you will be prompted to write down your mnemonic. This is the key to your money. Write it down on paper and keep it in a safe place. If you ever forget your password, you can use your mnemonic to recover your money.

Write down the words that are shown. This is your mnemonic.

Next, you will need to confirm your mnemonic. When your confirmation is correct, you have successfully backed up your account.
